Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout moment came with Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance as Tina , in Fearless (1993) brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her starring film roles since include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her work in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). Her roles have included Broadway stage productions such as The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. Her mother was in the poverty of Woodside Houses by 1999. She died from AIDS-related complications in 1999.
